The safeguarding lead is the person who notices, and the person everyone else brings their worry to. Every regulated care setting must name one: trained to recognise abuse and neglect, to act proportionately, and to work with authorities when it matters most. It is a progression role for experienced care professionals with Level 3 safeguarding training.
